Intro: Black Olive Bites

Last night, as I was reading a Baking Book from the public library, I found this awesome recipe for Black Olive Bites. Its so simple and the result is super awesome. It tasted like it was some fancy store bought item. I really hope you would try it.

You can serve these Black Olive Bites with cold Beer and enjoy the summer. It can be an excellent appetizer in the numerous parties we will be hosting this summer :) :) You could also have it in the evening with tea. Its just too good.

Thank you for reading my instructable.

STEP 1: Ingredients and Preparation Method:

Ingredients:

  1. All Purpose Flour - 2 Cups
  2. Black Olives (finely chopped) - 1 Cup
  3. Olive Oil - 2 tbsp
  4. Baking Powder - 1 tsp
  5. Sugar - 1/4 tsp
  6. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  7. Butter - 2/3 Cup
  8. Mozzarella Cheese - 1/4 Cup
  9. Milk - 1/2 Cup

Preparation Method:

  1. Mix all purpose flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  2. Add cold grated butter and grated cheese and massage it well.
  3. Add milk and chopped olives and olive oil and make a smooth dough.
  4. Make logs of the dough and wrap it with cling wrap and freeze it for an hour.
  5. Cut it into pieces of about 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Bake it in a preheated oven at 350 degree F for 20-25 mins or until the sides and bottom is brownish. Note: The baking time will depend on your oven and also on the thickness of the olive bite batter. So be careful. I would start watching the oven after 15mins of baking time to prevent it from burning.
  7. Serve with cold beer and enjoy the summer. It is an excellent appetizer in the numerous parties we will be hosting this summer :) :) You could have it in the evening with tea as well.

Yes it does. It added a different look and taste to this snack bite. Thank you.

You could also use marinated green olives, finely chopped garlic, add or substitute other cheeses, (green) onions, herbs... the options are abundant. Great recipe, I absolutely have to make these!

... oh, and be sure to try it with spelt flour. Spelt makes for awesome cookies!

Thank you. Glad you liked the recipe and thank you for providing more options. I did not know about spelt flour, will definitely check on that.

I'd try it for an appetizer this weekend, hoping for a great result!

That's great. Please do post picture after you make it. Thank you for reading my instructable.

Is it possible to serve this with a warm bear? Our bears in northern Calif are not polar.. Kidding, I assume you meant BEER.
