Introduction: Black and White Knitted Blanket

I made this is a blanket for my daughter to thank her for a trip to Disney World! She loves black and white so it came out great!! It is a very Warm and cozy blanket. I used Hometown USA Oakland Black and New York White yarn, size US 19 knitting needles, US P crochet hook and a blunt needle. I want to say I bought 10 black and 10 white a little more or less. This will fit a twin bed.
Cast on 13 stitches
Row: 1 Knit
Row: 2 Purl
Continue till you have 16 rows
Row: 17 bind off. (this will be the knit row)
I made 32 black squares and 31 White squares which I sewed them together using Black yarn. Make sure you pay attention when you sew squares together that the knit side will face forward and that the stitches are going up, not across. Place the knit sides of a black and white square together then sew along the side continue till you have a row of 7 squares.
Make sure to alternate the color of the squares. I made 9 rows then sewed those together. I then used the crochet hook to crochet around the outer edges making sure to crochet 3 stitches in the corner stitch to go around the corners. I crochet two times around the blanket.
Use the Black yarn & crochet hook for the Mickey Mouse:
