Introduction: Bluetooth Heating Crocheted Full Face Mask
I found that creating a full face mask covering the ears and the head will be more effective for winter to protect from the cold. This is NOT JUST A CROCHET MASK. This mask is created to be heated and the heat can be controlled through your smartphone by connecting the circuit in the mask via Bluetooth.
First we have to crochet the hat. After that lets see how the electronic parts are added.
Ingredients (to crochet the hat)
- · 2 wool yarns (100 g)
- · 2 wool yarns (50g)
- (You can use a preferred color. I used grey, red and a mixed color wool yarn)
- · 3 mm crochet hook.
Step 1:
·
Chain 4 and slip stitch with chain one to create a ring.
Step 2:
·
Now, chain 3 and do 11 double crochets in to the ring. And when you are done with the last double crochet stitch then slip stitch with the first one to connect the beginning stitch with the end.
Step 3:
·
Now, chain 3.And do a post double crochet stitch around the same stitch. Again double crochet on the top of the next stitch and do a front post double crochet around the same stitch. Again double crochet on the top of the next stitch. And then double crochet around the post of it. Do the same until you get 24 stitches. And slip stitch to connect the beginning with the end.
Step 4:
·
Now you have finished 2 rounds. Let’s go to the 3rd round. Chain three and double crochet in to the top of the next stitch and do a front post double crochet around the same stitch. The next stitch is a ordinary one. So do a double crochet in to the top of the next stitch. And the next stitch is the post. So do a double crochet on the top of it and do a double crochet around the post of the same stitch. So on you can do a post stitches after each ordinary double crochet until you get 36 stitches. Slip stitch at the end.
Step 5:
·
Now you are done with the 3 rd round. Let’s go to the 4 th round. Chain 3 and do a double crochet on the top of the next stitch. Including the chain 3 you have crocheted 2 double crochets. Therefore you can do the post stitch on the next stitch that means the 3 rd stitch. So do a double crochet on the top of the 3 rd stitch and double crochet again around the post of the same stitch. Again do ordinary double crochets in to the next two stitches. And the other stitch (6 th stitch) is a post stitch therefore do a double crochet on the top of it. And do a double crochet around the post of it. Do the same way until you get 48 stitches and 12 of them should be post stitches. Slip stitch at the end.
Step 6:
·
Okay. Now you are done with the 4 th round. In the 5 th round chain 3 and there you can see 3 double crochets in-between every post stitches. So after doing chain 3 you should do a front post double crochet around the middle stitch of those 3 stitches. After that do a normal double crochet on the top of the next stitch. And the next stitch is the big post. So double crochet on the top of it and do a front post double crochet around the same stitch. So on crochet along until you get 60 stitches with 24 posts. Slip stitch at the end.
Step 7:
·
Now let’s go to the 6 th round. Chain 3. And do a double crochet in the same stitch. After that you'll find the post stitch. So do a front post double crochet around the 3 rd stitch. After that do 2 double crochets in to the next two stitches. And then you'll meet the main post. But we are not going to do a double crochet on the top of the post stitch this time. So do just a front post double crochet around it only. So on fill the 6 th round until you get 72 stitches with 24 posts. There will be 2 double crochets between each post. Then slip stitch at the end.
Step 8:
·
Then go to the 7 th round. Now chain 3 and do a double crochet in to the next stitch. And in the next stitch you have to do 2 double crochets in order to increase the stitches. After that you'll find the post stitch, so do a front post double crochet around it. Then again do 2 double crochets on the top of the next stitch. Then one double crochet in the next stitch. Then you’ll find the main post stitch. Just do a front post double crochet around it. Repeat this round until you get 108 stitches with 24 post stitches.
Step 9:
·
- We are not going to increase further. So repeat this 7 th round until you get 27 rounds.
- · Now let's see how to create the opening for the eyes and the nose.
- · After crocheting 27th round you can easily do a slip stitch and again chain 3. After that do 40 double crochets with post stitches where necessary. And then chain 28. After that again do 40 double crochets usually as before. And slip stitch.
Step 10:
·
Now you have come to the 29 th round. So again chain 3. Double crochet 40 stitches until you gt to the chain. Don't do post stitches here. Just do double crochets. After you have reached to the chain, then do double crochets in to each chain. Now you have got 68 double crochets. Now you can do the remaining 40 double crochets.
Step 11:
In 30 th round again chain 3.And now you can
do double crochets with front post double crochets where necessary. You can do front post double crochet after each 3 normal double crochets
Step 12:
·
- Now crochet 15 rounds starting from the 31 st round. At the end you can get 45 rounds.
- You can connect new colors where you want in your hat. I have mentioned how to connect more colours to your hat below.
- · You can cut the wool yarn where you want and tie the new color to the end of that yarn. After that crochet hiding those ends of the 2 yarns. You can do it by holding the end of the yarns and doing double crochets over it.
Step 13:
·
Now you have reached to the end. And we just have to do some decreases. Chain 3 again. And begin a double crochet. Yarn over and go through the immediate next chain. And yarn over again and pull through the same chain. Now you can see 3 loops. So yarn over and pull through first 2 loops and stop. Do not complete that double crochet. So again yarn over and go through the next chain. Yarn over and pull through that chain. Again you can see 3 loops. Yarn over and pull through first 2 loops. And yarn over and pull through all the remaining loops. After that you can see two stitches have decreased to one. So on crochet the whole 46 th round doing decreases connecting each 2 stitches. At the end you will get 54 stitches.
Step 14:
·
- You can now crochet normally crochet 54 stitches about 4 rounds until you think it is enough. I have crocheted it 4 rounds.
- · Now you are done with the hat. So to finish the hat single crochet around the 50th round. And also slip stitch around the eyes area.
Step 15: Step 15: Adding Electronic Parts
We need,
- Hc-05 Bluetooth module
- Attiny85 micro controller
- pc817 optocoupler
Because of the cost I couldn't be able create this circuit manually but I uploaded the steps to make you know how to do that.i think this concept might be very useful. through this you can warm your hat to the temperature you need and also increase, decrease,on or off the system via your smartphone by connecting to the circuit through Bluetooth.
we can set this circuit inside the hat and we can connect a thick crocheted piece of fabric to cover the circuit.
