Introduction: Buffet Dish Nametag Holder
This is a very easy to make holder for dish names to be used at a buffet for a wedding or a party. The requirements aren't to many, so its rather simple.
You will need (for each):
2 pieces, laser cut 3mm MDF (I got them cut to the size 7cm x 5cm, with rounded edges). One I got etched with a geometric pattern and the other blank. Since I don't own a laser cutting machine, I got this step outsourced
2 Wooden clothes clips
Adhesive (I used rubber adhesive, you can use white glue or any other glue that can stick wood)
Acrylic paints and brushes
Step 1: Glue the Pieces
Put glue on one side of the wooden clips and press them onto one MDF piece. Then glue the other side and stick the other MDF piece . Make sure that its all aligned correctly.
Step 2: Paint the Pattern
Since I got the pattern engraved, it made it very simple for me to just fill in the acrylic paint with a brush, as per the theme colors white, green and yellow. You can do whatever pattern or logo or initials as per your theme. You could even just paste a lovely picture of the couple on each name holder!
OPTIONAL: If you want to you can apply a coat of PU wood finish to give it a glossy look.
Step 3: Done
That's it... Use your fingers to press the MDF and open the clips, place the name tag between. The clips will hold, in place, the paper on which you can print or hand write the names of each dish. There! You have an inexpensive personalized buffet dish name holder.
You could even use it to hold the table place cards.
