Build It Yourself Birdhouse

Spring is here and you know what that means! Yes cold winter is over, but it also means spring weather in coming which means flowers will grow and more animals will start coming. Animals such as birds and if you want to see birds come to your area then this simple design can help you make a birdhouse to attract spring birds.

Supplies

1 piece of wood 10x9 inches 2 inches thick

2 pieces of wood 7x5 inches 2 inches thick

2 pieces of wood in the shape of a pentagon 3 inches tall 4 inches diagonal 2 inches thick

4 pieces of wood 1 inch thick 3 inches long

Glue

A circular cutter ( Device that can drill a hole in wood )

1 piece of .5 inch x 3.5 inches tall wood

Protractor

Ruler

Step 1: Prep Step

First you want to get a fine piece of wood around 20x8 inches similar to the picture above. Then you want to Cut a piece for the base around 10x9 , then 4 pieces of the sides around 6x5 and 2 of those pieces needs to be a shape of a pentagon and to make that get a protractor and ruler and measure 135 degrees and 45 degrees and cut along that to get that shape. Then 4 pieces of wood that is 3 inches long 1 inch thick to put along the sides of the pentagons. Then a piece that's 5x6 as the roof.

Step 2: DIY Part

You then want to after all you parts are assembled. You but the base on the bottom ( the biggest piece of wood ) . Then the other 6x5 pieces sides of the base and with 1 of your pentagons you want to drill a circle hat is about 1.75 diameter then with your 2 pentagons glue them to the other bases of the birdhouse. Then you glue to roof on top with your 4 pieces that are 3 inches long 1 inch thick put them along the sides of the pentagon. Then you get a small piece of wood that is.5 inches thick and 3.5 inches long to glue to the sides to act as a stand for the birdhouse. Then you choose your color of stain that you want and paint it. Then your done!
