You might have seen such types of hangings in the online store or shops. But have you ever thought we can build it too in just a few minutes? Yes, we can build them at home with the minimum supplies, and looks just awesome. Either you can hang it in your garden or gift it to your friend. We have reused wooden pieces lying around and made something that you are going to learn first and make it afterward.

A wooden wall hanging shelf is a fantastic way to add some extra storage and decoration to the garden or any room in your home. This type of shelf is not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing, making it a great addition to any interior design scheme.

One of the primary benefits of a wooden wall-hanging shelf is that it takes up minimal space while providing ample storage. Unlike floor-standing shelves, wall-hanging shelves do not take up valuable floor space, making them perfect for smaller rooms or apartments and sometimes garden. They can be installed at any height, which means you can customize them to your specific needs.

When building a wooden wall hanging shelf, it's essential to ensure that it is securely fastened to the wall. Follow these steps carefully, and use the appropriate hardware to ensure that the shelf is stable and safe to use.

Now let's make it.

Supplies

For making this you will just need a few things which are as follows-

  • Wooden Pieces
  • White Rope
  • Nail
  • Drilling Machine

Step 1: Mark the Holes

First, mark the holes with the help of a hammer and nail. It can be around 1CM far away from all 4 corners. A small point-size hole is enough for drilling purposes. No need to do a big deep hole because we are making a way for the drill bit to go seamlessly. Take care of the distance for all the holes. It must be the same for all for better symmetry. You can use measuring tape for the exact point where we have to drill a hole.

Step 2: Drilling

After marking all the holes, drill carefully through the markings. Care must be taken while drilling because the drill bit is near the corner so it should not get damaged due to high pressure and improper drilling. It must be straight and clean to look better. Add support below while drilling a hole. The drill bit at the end of the hole goes completely through the wood so, ensure that it must not touch the ground or other things else it will get damaged.

Step 3: Inserting Rope

After drilling, now it's time to insert a rope. You can use a nail to insert through the hole if you are facing a problem in inserting. refer to the photo I have shown. Insert rope according to the design you want. I have taken 2 designs here. Insert Rope according to length you want in your hanging.

Step 4: Balancing and Tie a Knot

Balancing is an important step to do. Balance the wooden pieces and adjust the rope such that the wooden piece is in the perfect horizontal position. Then, Cut the Rope as per your need and length, and then finally tie a knot.

Step 5: Ready to Hang

Your homemade wall hanging is now ready. Ensure that it is securely fastened to the wall. You can use it in many ways, like in your garden or in your living room.

Tip 1: You can place a small flower pot on this. This will definitely be an eye-catching thing in your area.

Tip 2: Cut empty mineral water plastic bottles into the shapes of pots and hang them nearby as shown in the introduction part. This will add beauty to your garden.
