Introduction: Build a Gaming Computer, or Learn the Basic Parts

About: Life is a series of projects. Woo-hoo!

Carson and I are the only ones in the family that love technology, we've built a lot of projects together but this is a favorite one. This gaming computer is Carson's pride and joy. It can handle all of his gaming, streaming & recording needs, the FPS is top notch and the graphic quality is excellent. If you are a gamer give this build a try. If you aren't in the market for a computer, this 7 minute video shows you every component in the computer. It's a great way to get familiar with the basic parts and introduce you to computers. Fair warning, you'll spend $1200 to copy this build but you'd pay WAY more than that if you bought this computer pre-built at a store. I picked and ordered the parts and Carson did most of the assembly. This was his 14th birthday present and I went big because we share the family geek gene and it was cool to show him how to build his first custom rig. No one else in this family knows a RAM stick from a processor but they chip in money, very appreciated.

Step 1: Watch the Video

This short video walks you step by step from an empty case to a working computer. It shows details of each component used, as well as how and where to install them. Build along piece by piece or just watch and learn to get started with computer building.
