Intro: Use a Document Clip As a Fountain Pen Stand

Fountain pens dry out if they are not capped immediately after being used. Since capping and uncapping a pen usually requires two hands, a stand would come in handy for, say, writing sporadic notes in a book. Unfortunately such stands are not readily available. I've taken to simply clamping a large document clip onto the cap of my Lamy Safari; it works very well. Gravity keeps the cap sealed, but not latched; thus uncapping requires only one hand and minimal effort.

STEP 1: Attach a Document Clip to Your Pen.

That's it!

cool idea. but, it takes both hands to take the cap off unless you weld it to the table or somthing.
The point is that you don't have to snap the cap on. "Gravity keeps the cap sealed, but not latched; thus uncapping requires only one hand and minimal effort" I really like this idea!
Clever idea, and nice pen. I had a Safari, then it broke in a roundabout way. Now I have a Lamy Joy, which is also really nice.
