Introduction: CAR HORN ON a BICYKLE
In this DIY tutorial i will show you how to mount a CAR HORN ON A BIKE with a few components. This project is for the person who want to make it just for the fun of it or the one who want to be safe out in the traffic.
I came up with the built for about five years ago at the age of 12, now a couple years later i decided to make a project out of it.
Step 1: The Video, END RESULT
Step 2: Components Needed
- CARHORN, CARHORN
- BATTERY, (OLD LAPTOP BATTERY, NOT A BOMB)
- MOMENTARY PUSH BUTTON, MOMENTARY PUSH BUTTON
- GAUGE ANGLE, GAUGE ANGLE
- ALLROUND FIXING BAND (GALVANISED BAND), ALLROUND FIXING BAND
- NUT
- WIRE, WIRE
Step 3: PREPARE CAR HORN
- Screw on the Gauge Angle on the back of the horn using the nut.
Step 4: MOUNTING THE MAIN COMPONENTS
The horn and battery will be installed using the pre existing cage bolts.
- Mounting The Battery:
Put the battery along the bike frame, "roll" the all around fixing band around the battery and bike frame. Match up the ends of the all around fixing band and put the cage bolt thru the holes, then screw the cage bolt into the frame of the bike.
2. Mounting The Car Horn:
Start by taking out the cage bolt from the bike frame, follow up by putting the gauge angle on the mounting point and tighten the cage bolt thru the gauge angle.
3. Mounting The Momentary Button:
The button is placed between the handlebar and the shifter. (When the wiring has been done it will keep the button in place from beneath.)
Step 5: WIRING
- Negative wire from battery to car horn.
- Positive wire from battery to button, from button to car horn.
Step 6: PUT IT TO USE
This is how I decided to use the horn. Here
