Introduction: CNC Gear Coaster
This is a very simple project that I made to hone my CAD and CAM skills. The result is a very functional coaster that has a pretty cool design.
What else is there to say? It's a coaster... shaped like a gear...
I used Inkscape to CAD the design, and makerCAM to generate the toolpaths.
- 1/8" 2 Flute (Straight) End Mill was used for all of the pockets and profile cuts.
- 1/4" x 6" x 6" piece of poplar was used for the project.
I made some videos detailing the CAD, CAM, and milling of this project.
