Intro: CREATE YOUR OWN MINECRAFT SERVER! Super Easy, Fast and Free! (NO CLICK BAIT)

Minecraft is an extremely enjoyable game where you can practically do anything you desire! But playing with friends across the internet can be a pain sometimes. Sadly, most multiplayer servers are either filled with trolls, not the gameplay experience you want or are simply too laggy. The other option is to host a LAN world, but you have to be connected to the same wifi as your friend. Setting up your own private servers seems to be a very daunting task (They are!) for any type of Minecraft player. But what if I told you, that you can have your own private server with endless customization in a few mouse clicks! Oh also... ANYONE CAN DO IT!

I PRESENT TO YOU

CREATE YOUR OWN MINECRAFT SERVER! Super easy, fast and free!

STEP 1: Https://aternos.org/en/

Let's jump right into it!

Search in your browser "Aternos" (Minus the " )

Or copy the link above the photo ^

It should be the first or second option in your browser!

Aternos | Minecraft servers. Free. Forever.

STEP 2: Click PLAY

Simply follow my green arrow to PLAY on the bottom right of the screen!

STEP 3: Sign Up

Create a profile with a username and password or login with google, twitch, facebook, etc.

STEP 4: ALMOST READY!

You basically are all set to go! BUT there is some more I want to talk about so you can get the full understanding!

STEP 5: OPTIONS Tab

Make sure you set this before you start!

The options tab is your best friend! Heres what it allows you to do.

  • How many players
  • Whitelist (Basically a VIP list to your world)
  • Gamemode
  • Difficulty
  • Custom world icon
  • Server Adress
  • And other COOL stuff!

When you change something, make sure you save it with the folder icon on the left of your selection!

STEP 6: MORE OPTIONS

There are more tabs you can play around with that let you customize your world easily!

You can...

  • Add mods!
  • Add plugins
  • Import your own worlds! (Lifesaver!)
  • Game Version

STEP 7: NOW YOU'RE READY!

You can finally hit that button!

NOTICE: Sometimes there is a wait time for your world to open. This wait time can range from 1 minute to 30 minutes depending on the time and how many slots you are making your server available.

STEP 8: Enter Minecraft!

Add Your server to Multiplayer and you're ready to go!

STEP 9: CONNECT!

After years of trying... You have finally created your own server with ease!

STEP 10: Monitor Your Server

You can view the players online under players tab (You can kick, ban and OP people here) and use the console for various commands. For instance, you can toggledownfall, set the time, OP people, etc.

STEP 11: Have Fun!

You can restart or stop the server whenever you like! Your world should save unless you change critical settings like the map or game version. (Make sure you have an extra copy of your worlds somewhere safe!)

I hope you enjoyed this Instructable! It doesn't have to be a pain anymore for creating your own private server! If you have any questions, please comment down below. I'm more than happy to assist anyone!

its very slow and when i mine a block it does not break 20 secods later it breaks
it is not fast. i have to wait 20 minutes, speed up. if it's 5 minutes it's good.
I already did it before I saw this and it is awesome!
aternos is not fast. depending on the time of day you may have to wait 45+ minutes. lower your expectations!

I've only had ONE time that the queue time has been over 20 minutes. Every other time it has been less than 2 minutes...

I have running two (2) 1.10.2 railcraft pi3 servers and one 1.12.2/beta 1.13 pi3 server running and would help anyone get that far for a local servers. Note my pi3 are on raspbin 8 not 9 yet. Just started to test 9 and it hasn't passed all my network requirements yet. PSAD fails to run.
Let's move that qso to my email KD5PQJ at KD5PQJ.COM or a new project.
Thanks for guiding; now I'm created a server and planning to play with my little brother. :)
I'd like to put a server on an arduino with an eithernet shield.. somebody did this long ago*, but it's for version 1.8 protocol 42.**

Not sure how it works***, it seems the arduino just needs to process the PC game controls, and update the map accordingly.

If I just want to play locally, not go online, do you know what/where I would need to buy to play with the (2015) 1.8 server? Ebay only lists 1.12.2, and that's for Win10 not 7/8. BTW, I see the Minecraft Raspberry PI / Pocket Edition is free, but I assume that's just the client side?

Hi there,

Sadly, I am not very knowledgeable about using Arduino. But from what you're saying. If all you wanna do is play locally, then why don't you just host a LAN server on your internet. But if you really want to use an Arduino then why don't you download a 1.8 PVP plugin/mod for the 1.12.2 version (Assuming that's why you want to play 1.8). But the only problem would be that you don't have Windows 10 (It's not that bad). Really sorry I can't give much help... Maybe ask some Arduino/Minecraft forums.
