Introduction: Cake Batter Milkshake Recipe
(a Dessert in a Cup) no really!
-- This drink is perfect for the summer and a great treat to make with the kids, family, or friends.
FULL INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cups of French Vanilla Ice Cream
- 3/4 cups any Happy Birthday Funfetti Cake Mix
- 2 cups of Whole Milk + additional if needed
- 1/2 cup of Dry Milk
Rimming the Glass (optional):
- 1/4 cup of Maple Syrup
- Colorful Sprinkles
Step 1: Video Demonstration
Step 2: Working With the Four Ingredients
In a blender, add the 2 cups of Ice Cream and 1 cup of Milk, (don't worry we'll be adding the rest later). Once you're done go ahead, and [ BLEND ].
Now add 1/2 cup of Dry Milk, [ BLEND ].
Once fully blended add the 3/4 cups any Happy Birthday Funfetti Cake Mix., [ BLEND ].
Finally add the 1 cup of Milk, and 1 cup of Ice Cream, [ BLEND ].
The milkshake is done! But go ahead and taste it to see if you should add anything else like extra ice cream or even more batter mix. See the thing is, this type of shake is typically already sweet, so sugar isn't added at all but if you want it extra sweet, add about a teaspoon of it--but only if you dare ;)
Now onto the next step if you're interested in rimming the glass.
Step 3: Rimming the Glass
In a small bowl, add a few drops of Syrup--any syrup would work, even maple. And then take your cup and dip it inside.
Now, in a smaller plate go ahead and add your sprinkles, bring the glass over and swirl it around. Watch video for full demonstration.
Step 4: Assemble
Once your glass is all nice and pretty, go ahead and pour in the amazing Cake Batter Shake and do the happy dance.
Step 5: Additional Toppings
To top it all off, why not add a bit more sprinkles. It's entirely up to you, but don't you want the birthday look? Plus I'm sure the kids would love to help at this part :)!!!
Step 6: All Done!
Doesn't this look like super amazing?! Okay well at least like a cake in a cup?! It sure does taste like one. Enjoy guys, and thanks so much for letting us into your kitchen.

Don't worry, it was an abstract compliment. Terrible for my heart, but I will make it and drink it anyway!

Wonder if you could substitute malt for the dry milk? I loves me some malted shakes!

...or maybe vanilla-flavored protein powder and acidophilus?
Reply 8 years ago on Introduction
You can def use the malt and the protein. However, I think its best to just take the acidophilus right after (with water) and not mix it with the shake.
