Introduction: Calendar Photo Magnets

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

This is a great way to recycle old calendars and turning them into fun fridge magnets!

Step 1: Materials

Here's what you'll need to make these cute magnets:

  • back covers of old calendars (I am using 2013 Minnie Mouse / 2015 Animal Safari / 2015 Butterflies / 2011 Tinker Bell / 2015 Pets Rock)
  • an Instagram paper pad (or glitter paper if you prefer)
  • scissors
  • X-acto knife
  • glue
  • self-stick magnets

Step 2: Cut the Paper

So, for each magnet, cut 2 small squares from a piece of Instagram paper. Take one of the squares and use an X-acto knife to cut away an inner square to make a frame. Set that aside.

Step 3: Add Calendar Picture

Cut a picture from a calendar back cover, trim to fit inside of a glitter square, and glue it to the center. Then, glue the frame on top. Let dry.

Step 4: Add Magnet

Finally, simply attach a self-stick magnet to the back and it's done!

Step 5: Create a Gallery

Now, you can add these magnets to the fridge door and make your own calendar photo art gallery! Or you can make a set of magnets to use as an artsy gift! These cute pint-size magnets go way beyond the creativity of the classic Instagram photo!
