Introduction: Camera BriefCase

About: I like DIY so where to be better than here. :)

Hi boys and girls.
(English is my second language so sorry for grammar mistakes).

I needed for a trip by car sturdy case for my camera so i got idea to make quick one from old briefcase and studio sponge (foam).

I choose this combination for several reasons:

- safety (there is combination lock on case)

- durability (it is hard case)

- thickness (it is thin so i can put it under my car seat)

Step 1: Material and Tools Used

Studio sponge (got mine for free from computer shop. It is used for packing components). Briefcase is from dumpster dive (used it for tools).

Tools: scissors, cutting knife, ruler, masking or duck tape and pen. It took 30 minutes to make it . It cost me nothing and I like it a lot.

Step 2: Preparation

Next step is to clean it and cut it so it fits in case. I used scissors for cutting. From two pieces you can make one and it fits nicely inside.

Step 3: Palcement

I needed to figure out placement of camera and lenses. I have put camera on corner where the case is toughest.

Step 4: Cutting

Last step is to cut. I have sponge from two pieces so i cut first one all through and second one just half through. My cuts are not perfect because cut blade was not perfect (cheap one) and it was my first time cutting something like this. Maybe i should use scissors for hole as well.

It is not beautiful (this is test one) but it is very useful. I will make another one but for now it is great and i want to see is it going to crumble.

Step 5: Finish

Hope you like it.

It is very quick and simple to make one, and usefull for me because i like to stop sometimes when i travel by car and take few pictures. And when im not near the car i know thaht the camera is safe under seat in car.
