Intro: Camp Chair

Fancy gizmos and gadgets tend to breakdown after a couple of days so its good to make a camp chair using solid wood. Why spend $50 on a piece of plastic when you can have this:

All you need is two pieces of timber, each about 40 cms long.

We found ours at the camp site as the tide had brought them in.

STEP 1: Pre-assembled

Here the chair is unassembled. Like a piece of Ikea furniture.

STEP 2: Assembled

Here the chair is assembled.

To Assemble:

  • Place one piece of wood vertically
  • Place the other piece of wood horizontally on top of the first piece to form the letter 'T'

STEP 3: Take a Seat

Sit on top of the horizontal piece of wood.

The beauty of this camp chair is it engages the core and is active seating.

Great! That's what i like instructables.com for! Good solution with (very) low tech! Thanks a lot for sharing!
Thanks. Yep, Very low tech. :-) Though I am sure when I was watching the Soyuz space craft take off, they used a stick to reach the control panel while straped in on the launch pad. Which I thought was a good solution too.
