Introduction: Card Board Violin
I love making things out of paper and card board, so four days ago my sister told me about Instructables and she told me it was having a cardboard challenge. So I decided that I would make something for it. Being a violinist I think about violins all the time, so I thought "hey" I should make a cardboard violin. So I did. It didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped but it did turn out better than I thought it would.
I made it almost exactly like they make a real violin. I even included a card board sound post and base board on the inside.
I had a lot of fun making it.

Hi, thank you so much, I'm glad to see people interested in my project!
I don't think I used a template for the violin. I made this several years ago, so I don't remember exactly what I did, but I think I used a real violin and traced the outline for the body and copied it that way. If you don't have an actual violin to copy there are some sites you can find online that might have an outline you could print out. Even if the site is for making a real violin the dimensinos would sitll work fine. If you do use a template for a real vioin you would simply use cardboard instead of wood and wouldn't need to pay attention to very many of the details because they are only for the sound and a cardboard violin won't produce any sound. You also won't need any fancy tools only regular glue and some sort of tool for cutting cardboard, I used hot glue, scizzers and a box cutter.
Below is a pdf with some templates in it that would work. It's very long so you'd need to skim a lot but the outline for the scroll and the pegs might be very useful.

Unfortunately it doesn't make a sound.
The bow should be coming next.
