Introduction: Cardboard Armor Suit

This half-made suit of armor is ready to do anything from saving a damsel in distress to pillaging a neighboring village. This suit is made of four parts: breastplate, axe, shield, and dagger. Maybe in the future I will be able to add more parts. But for now lets get into it.

Step 1: Materials

For this project I used corrugated cardboard. I used a hot glue gun to help things stick. To cut out the parts I used a mix of scissors and various exact-o knives.

Step 2: Breastplate

The breastplate is has velcro on the side so it is easy to take on and off. First you have to build the body parts and attach them with the two straps on the side. Optional things you can do is add decoration on the front and shoulder armor on the straps. Make sure that you glue everything that you can.

Step 3: Shield

The shield is made using five parts. There is the front plate, the two back plates (because I couldn't find a big enough piece of cardboard), and the two straps on the back for holding. First attach the front plate with the back plates. You have to add a lot of hot glue or else it will fall apart. Once you do that add the two straps on the back one bigger than the other. One should fit your arm and the other should be able hold through the arm.

Step 4: Dagger

This dagger I made by sandwiching two cardboard cutouts with a lot of hot glue. Other than that all I did was add a strap on the breastplate so there was a place to put it.

Step 5: The Axe

The last step and probably my favorite is the battle axe. Unfortunately I was to lazy to make my own so I bought my self a laser cut kit from cardboardsafari.com. They also have a sword kit but I wasn't able to get that. But there you go. You now have a 100% awesome cardboard armor suit, complete with cardboard weapons. Enjoy!
