Cardboard Bird Trap

Shows you how to make an awesome cardboard bird trap that’s great at catching birds

Step 1: Tools and Supplies

Tool
Hot glue gun
Screwdriver
Knife
Ruler
Sharpie
Supplies
Small cardboard box
String
Duck tape
Wooden skewers
Rubber band

Step 2: The Door

On one side of the box put a 3 x 4“ box without cutting the top of the box. then in the bottom corner of the door use the screwdriver to make a slip to put the rubber band through then glue the rubber band. finally cut a 4 inch Skewers center it’s on the bottom of the door and glue it.

Step 3: The Window

On the other side of the box cut a 3 1/2“ x 3 1/2“ window. then cut six 4 1/2 inch skewers and glue them to the door vertically with half an inch in between each one. Now cut a 2 1/2” and lay it horizontally across the other skewers 1 inch from the bottom of the skewers. Now attached the rubber band in the same message as before note this time it will be more tricky because they have a Band is under tension. Finally cut a slit to the bottom of the box between the two middle skewers.

Step 4: The Trigger

Now cut a 2 1/2” screws are tie your string to the middle of it and glue it to the door make sure you have plenty of string available. Go around to the backside to cut a 3” skewer with the pointy end. Now open the door and wrap the string around the pointy skewer well is hinging on the horizontal skiwear then tie it there and add hot glued to make sure it doesn’t come undone. Then cut a 3” skewers with the pointy and cut off the very tip of the pointy end to make a more dull and then measure it to the right height and cut the excess off as shown in the pictures above. I put a black ring around mine.

Step 5: Completion

Now put a piece of bait on the skewer with the string tied to it then wedge the skewer with the black ring around it under the bait stick and your trap is set.

Step 6: Upgrades

1 add a porch for the bird to land on
2 get a larger box and put two or three traps in it
3 put bars on the top so they’ll be more light inside

I would think it would be stressful for a bird being trapped in a box. Wouldn't it just go crazy and fly around in the box to exhaustion? I am seriously asking that question since I don't know.
I can understand if you have a pet bird or if a bird came in your house, but to just catch them for the fun of it doesn't sound like it is fun for the bird.

These are just my thoughts; not saying what you do is right or wrong.
