Cardboard Enclosed Earth Fault Indicator

Introduction: Cardboard Enclosed Earth Fault Indicator

About: Hello, I am 17 year old innovator living in India. My interest lies in Electronics. Surf through my creations and enjoy!!!!1

This project is an Earth Fault Indicator.

Here is a simple tester to find whether the mains wiring is Correct or not. This tester can be used to check sockets periodically before connecting appliances like heater and electric iron. It indicates the status of the mains wiring through two LEDs as shown in image.

LIKE, VOTE if you Find it Worthy!!! and Comment Below any suggestions or Appreciations!!!

Step 1: Materials You Will Need

1. 5mm Green LED

2. 5mm Red LED

3. 1N4007 Rectifier Diodes x 2

4. BC547 NPN Transistor

5. 33kohm 1W Resistor

6. 220 kohm Resistor x 4

7. 470 ohm Resistor

8. 1kohm Resistor

9. 3 pin Connector for mains

10. Cardboard Box

Step 2: Follow Circuit Diagram

Follow the circuit Diagram and assemble the components on General Purpose Circuit Board as shown in Circuit Diagram.

Step 3: Testing It!!!

Instructions for reading:

1. If the GREEN led glows, the mains wiring is perfect!!

2. If RED led glows, the earthing is faulty!!!

NOTE: As the circuit is operated directly from mains voltage, it should be assembled only by experienced persons. To avoid lethal shock, do not touch or troubleshoot the circuit when it is connected to mains power.

Step 4: Enclose It in a Cardboard Box

And the final Step, Enclose it in a Cardboard Box!!!!

Thank you!!!
