Introduction: DIY Jewelry Box
Girls love to own unique jewelry boxes. You can simply buy jewelry boxes form stores, but if you can make your own jewelry box it'll be unique. This instructable shows you how to make a simple, easy & pretty jewelry box out of cardboard. Make one for yourself, gift a friend or anyone special. It's sooo easy to make :)
Step 1: Materials Needed
To make cardboard jewelry box you'll need:
- Cardboard,
- Pencil and ruler,
- X-acto knife,
- Fabric,
- Scissors,
- Hot glue gun,
- White glue,
- Yarn.
Step 2: Making the Box and Lid
Cut out 6 pieces out of cardboard,
A (box), B (lid) and C's as shown in the picture of this step.
Notice that I've drew 3 lines (oink, yellow & blue), make sure that pink + yellow = blue.
Now fold up the four sides (of A & B) & use glue or scotch tape to stick them.
Step 3: Covering the Box With Fabric
Cover the box and lid with fabric.
You can use any kind of fabric.
Cover it with fabric as neatly as possible.
Step 4: Adding Inner Layers
Stick the four pieces (C) inside the box as shown in the picture.
You can cover the inside of the box with fabric if you like.
Step 5: Adding Border
Apply glue along the sides off the lid and then stick the yarn.
Decorate the lid with yarn. Use white glue to stick the yarn.
Step 6: Decorating
You can add beads, stones, threads, small mirror pieces, anything to decorate the box.
Enjoy!
