I've finally decided to try my hand at making an instructable! Thanos's sword from Avengers: Endgame. It took me a while, but the end product is amazing! It's fun to make and it makes a pretty good prop. It's a little flimsy, but unless you're actually fighting someone with it, it should be fine. Anyways, lets get to it.

Supplies

A durable (preferably short) cardboard tube
Cardboard
Hot glue and White glue
Duct tape or paint (Gold, silver, and black) I used tape for better durability.
A knife (preferably one that will cut cardboard well)

Step 1: The Guards

This step requires
Cardboard
A pencil
A knife
Glue

Take some of your cardboard and these shapes out. you'll need 4 of each. Sizing all depends on how wide your cardboard tube is. I recommend cutting one shape out and tracing the same shape onto your cardboard so all the shapes are even. Once you've cut all the shapes out, trace part of the smaller curved piece onto the house shaped piece and cut it out. Place the larger curved piece over this. Alternatively, you could just cut the square piece off of the small curved pieces, but I did it this way instead. Now you can glue the pieces together and now you have the guards.

Step 2: The Blades

This step requires
A long cardboard box
A pencil
A knife

Take out a long box or a large piece of cardboard. The blade should be 2x as long as the handle including the guards. Place the guards on the handle and measure how long they are together. Multiply that by 2 and make a rectangle the same size as the and then draw the shape of the blade. You'll need 4 versions of the blade without the edge, and 2 with the edge. Once you've cut them out, glue them together and weigh them down with some books. Wait for the glue to dry and you're done the blades.

Step 3: Decorating

This step requires
Duct tape or paint

Time to decorate! Take your paint or tape. Starting with the handle. If you're using tape, leave the area that you'll glue without tape as the tape will not connect with the glue properly. wrap gold tape around the handle and place some tape on the guards, but don't tape the back of the guards. Wrap silver or grey tape around the blade. Find a reference image and tape or paint the black on the back of the blades. If you're using paint, paint the guards and handle with gold paint, paint the blade silver or grey, and paint the back decoration of the blade black. Alternatively, you could paint or tape it any colors you like!

Step 4: Preparing the Handle

This step requires
Cardboard tube
A pencil
A knife

Take your cardboard tube and mark how much space your hand will take up. Leave some room and make a mark with a sharpie. From the mark, cut towards the nearest tip, slightly angled. Depending on how large the tube is and how large you plan to make the blade, make a mark in the middle on the end of the tube. Cut down the middle, going down just as far as the first mark. On each side, you should have 3 different slots. 2 of which should be open on one side.

Step 5: Final Assembly

This step requires
Duct tape
Glue

Avengers! Assemble... Take your handle, using hot glue, glue around the edge of the cuts on he middle slots and insert the blades, making sure they're facing opposite directions. Let the glue dry then apply glue to where the guards will be then place the place the guards on. I suggest doing this on side at a time, making sure the guards line up properly then let the glue dry. Also, I recommend cutting out a small area where the tip of the guards will rest so that the hot glue will stick better.
