Introduction: Carrick Bend Loop

I call this the Carrick Bend Loop. The lower knot is a ordinary diamond /lanyard knot for size comparison.

Supplies

Cord of desired color

Step 1:

I usually tie this knot around my fingers. Bring cord around as shown. Bring left hand end over, under, over, under and over as shown to form carrick bend

Step 2:

Bring lower end through bight as pictured.

Step 3:

Bring upper end through bight as shown.

Step 4:

Bring lower end across knot, under 2 strands [crossing point] as shown.

Step 5:

Bring other end across knot, under 2 strands [crossing point] as shown.

Step 6:

Bring each end around all strands and up through center of knot

Step 7:

Gradually tighten the knot. Do not rush this procedure. Now is the time to adjust the size of your loop.
