Cat House With a Scratching Pad

I will be teaching you how to build a cat house with a scratching pad. My cat scratches everything, so this was a great project to make for him. It is simple and easy to make, and hopefully your cat likes it as much as mine did.

Supplies needed:

• Cardboard Box
• Twine or rope
• Hot Glue Gun
• Paper or paint (optional)

Step 1: Cutting Out the Entrance to the Box

Take your box and cut a hole big enough for your cat to fit through. The box I used already had a hole in it, so I just flipped the box upside down. If you want, you can put a blanket or pillow inside of the box to make it more cozy for your cat.

Step 2: Making the Scratching Pad

On the top of the box, take your twine/rope and hot glue the end of it in the center of the box. Start wrapping the rope in a circle until it reaches the edges of the box. when you are done wrapping the twine or rope, hot glue the end so it doesn't move. This is what mine looked like.

Step 3: Finishing Touches

You can add paper or paint on the outside of the box to make it look better. I added paper and wrote my cat's name above the door.
