Introduction: Chairs Contributing to Chaos!!
The carpet, the chairs, oh my. When students go to leave their tables they push their chairs back. Unfortunately, the chair does not glide across the carpet the way it would on linoleum. This results in a LOUD bang/slamming from the chair falling backward. They just would not move instead toppled over.
This can not continue in a learning environment! It must be fixed.
Supplies
This project will require:
A High Temp Glue Gun
Glue Sticks
Furniture Sliders
and finally, the chair that won't slide
Step 1: Identify the Problem!
Find the chair that needs to be repaired. This can be made more difficult if there is more than one chair in the room (the more chairs the harder it will be to find it). Once the chair has been found flip it so the feet are showing.
Plugin the hot glue gun so that it is ready when you need it.
Step 2: Locate the Feet
There are four feet at the bottom of every chair, locate where they are and make them fully accessible. Select one of the feet to be "fixed" first.
Step 3: The Slider
Getting the slider prepared for placement is one of the most crucial parts of this entire repair!!
Add an Ample dose of hot glue to the slider, this will ensure that there is enough glue to cover the surface area of the foot.
*Be Careful!! The glue is hot, please don't get it on your fingers. It hurts :(
Step 4: Placement
Place the slider on the foot. Make sure to get all of the slider onto the foot of the chair to ensure maximum benefit from the equipment.
Step 5: Repeat (times 3)
Continue adding the sliders until all 4 of the feet have a slider glued onto them.
Allow the glue to dry.
Step 6: Flip and Scootch
Flip the chair over (when the glue is fully dry)
Scootch the chair a little way to make sure the fix- fixed the problem
Finally allow students to sit in the chairs during class time.
