Introduction: Cheap LED Lighting Tube

This is my first instructable! And hope you like it.

It's about a cheap indoor LED lighting tube. That you can hang on only 2 screws or fasten it with cable ties to something.

use it above my workbench and in my tent (for camping). Its cheap,light and easy to make.

Step 1: Step 1: Materials

  • 1 x 5m LED-Strip (Get it on Banggood)
  • 1 x Solderless Female Barrel Power Connector (Get it on Banggood)
  • 1 x Electrical tube (19mm / 3/4") (hardware store)
  • 2 x Screw hook (hardware store)
  • 12 x cable ties (hardware store)
  • 1 x 12V / > 2 ampère adapter (from a old router or modem) Led strip uses 24W / 12V = 2A
  • Solder Flux pen
  • Universeel soldeer
  • Drill (bore +/-2mm)
  • Soldering iron
  • some electrical tape
  • some isolated wire

NOT waterproof (ip65), only for indoor use!

Step 2: Step 2: the Tube

Take a electrical tube

Ø19mm about 1000 mm in length

Drill two holes +/- 2mm on each side

Step 3: Step 3: Cut Cut Cut

Cut the led strip in 5 pieces (5x1000mm)

Cut only on a scissor symbol! (from one scissor symbol to another is 50mm)

Place the strips next to each other (place all the + symbol on the same side)

Cut the first 50 mm of the first strip (where there are three copper contacts)

Step 4: Step 4: Solder

Solder the strips with some wire together

Step 5: Step 5: ..... on the Tube

Peel of the back of the LED strips en put them one by one on the tube. Do not cover the holes you made!

Step 6: Step 6: Connect to Female Power Connector

Slide the LED strip into the connector en close it until it clicks. There are + and - symbols on the top of the "clip" so you know how to put it in.

Step 7: Step 7: Secure

Use the cable ties to secure the led strip (every 10cm i used one and two to secure the power connector)

Step 8: Step 8: Put in the Screw Hooks...

Put the two screw hooks in the holes and apply some tape over the solders.

Step 9: Step 9: Give It POWER

Connect the poweradapter and..... there will be light.
