Introduction: Cheap and Easy Aromatherapy Diffuser

About: Ummm... I like postcard, chocolate, coffee, beer and yarn. And i can sleep 18 hours a day.. and I love banana!

This is how I catch the sunshine!

I bought a heavenly lemongrass aromatherapy shimmering liquid but I don't have a burner and or a diffuser. I checked out the price for electric burner, candle burner and even a diffuser and I just don't want to spend the money.

So I looked around my house for something I can use without spending a dime. Here it is and it works out really fine. Now my living room have a hint of lemongrass smell and give a relaxing ambiance just like in a spa.

Hope you can enjoy this as much as I do :)

Step 1: Things You Need

1. Stick it out!

I have some bamboo skewers for bbq. Since bamboo doesn't absorbs liquid much, so I modified it. You can use any stick you have, anything that fits the size and shape.

2. Cotton Yarn or any yarn/ fabric than can absorbs liquid

3. Scissors

4. Cutter knife

5. Wood glue

6. A small container, jar, used jam jar or whatever you can find

Step 2: Break It!

Since my bamboo skewers are quite long (30 cm), so I cut them in half using a cutter. I also cut the sharp point and make sure to clean the bristles so all ends are smooth

Step 3: Smear It!

Smear the wood glue to the bamboo skewers/stick. Smear half-half, to minimize your fingers getting covered in glue. Don't use too much glue because it can harden the yarn, just use enough to make the yarn stick to the skewers

Step 4: Wrap It!

After smearing up the glue, wrap the skewers with yarn top to bottom. Use the scissors to cut each ends

You can also use strips of fabric if you don't have cotton yarn. The whole idea is to use whatever that is available in your house so it wont cost a thing

Step 5: Tadaa!

Wait for the glue to dry.

Pour aromatherapy liquids to jar/container and then put the diffusers inside. If you feel the scent is getting faded, just switch and turn the ends of the diffusers so the soaked part would be sticking out.

Good luck and enjoy!
