Intro: Cheap Homemade Car Speaker Box

A few months ago I purchased a 1972 chevy c10. When I got it it had the original radio and no speakers so I had to buy speakers to put in it. Rather then going out to buy speaker boxes or Make them out of wood so I decided to make one out of an acetone one gallon container.

STEP 1: Materials

This project requires a one gallon acetone can, speakers, duct tape, a phillips head screwdriver, a sharpie, and a dremel.

STEP 2: Preparing the Tin

To get the tin ready you need to make sure the tin is empty and then clean out the inside with soap and water.

STEP 3: Cutting the Tin

To cut the tin take the ring that goes around the speaker and hold it onto the tin then trace the inside of the ring with your sharpie. Then take the dremel and cut around the lines.

STEP 4: Putting in the Speaker

Once you have cut out the hole with the dremel use the duct tape to tape over the sharp edges. Then put in the speaker with the ring around it use self taping screws to secure the speaker to the tin. Then put the speaker box under your seat and run the cord out the spout to your radio. Thanks for looking if you like it please vote for it in the art of sound contest.

be shure to add pillow stuffing too and a small vent for the bass.
Why wouldn't you just leave them on the floor with no box, would sound a better of an idea to me.
Because this protects the speakers and helps improve the sound quality
True, but do they not rattle the hell out of the tin?
No they don't rattle around much at all.
