Introduction: Checkers Board Table Top
I was sitting at an old bench table I had in the yard and I could put my finger right through the table top what's happens next is this .
Supplies
4x8 3/4 inch plywood screws and old table
Paint black and red white is optional sand paper 120 and 400 grit works. And polyurethane to seal it. glue for the pieces
Step 1: Plywood
Take a piece of 3/4 inch plywood put on top of an old table you may have sitting in the yard like I did.
Measure it how ever big you want your table to be.
After you cut it. screw it ontop the table
This part I can't help you as I don't know what your using
Step 2: Cutting the Lines
Grab your router tools
Measure line so you have even 8 rows wide 8 rows long
You need 8 boxes
I would Measure long and wide divide your boxes
Step 3: Paint
Your going to paint the top black
I used flat spray paint
Step 4: Sand
You want to sand off the black on every other block
So you have black then sand next black then sand
Like a checkers board
Sand to your liking I didn't paint the squares white because I wanted to show the wood
Step 5: Polyurethane
After the sanding is finished apply a coat of Polyurethane
After first coat drys lightly sand the table
Repeat as you like I did it 5 times
Step 6: Checkers Pieces
I used Mason jar lids I glued the tops in and painted
You can make yours out of what ever you want to
Step 7: Checkers Pieces Red
I used Mason jar lids I glued the tops inside and painted red
Step 8: Finished Project
Once everything was done it was ready to play.
Thank you I hoped you enjoyed my work.
