Introduction: Cheddar Cheese Charm for Amateur Carvers

It is a cheesy charm for a grilled cheese day made out of clay. Show your cheesiness through this charm add it to a bracelet or make it a bracelet or necklace of its own!

Supplies

You will need:

  • Yellow Polymer Clay OR Polymer Clay and Yellow Paint
  • Something to make the round hole in the cheese(it is ok if you don't have the actual carving tool a pen would work fine)
  • Chain or String to make the necklace
  • Clay Knife(or a ruler)

Step 1: Making the Basic Shape

Roll the clay into a ball and shape its edges so it looks somewhat like a Triangular Prism. Then take the clay knife and cut a small portion off the edges to make the sides more smooth and the corners sharper.

Step 2: Making the Holes

Use your carving tool or pen to make slight round impressions on the prism by choosing a spot on it and pressing the pen only a little deep and then roll the pen where you hold it so that it makes a bigger radius of the hole. On the side or on the apex just roll the pen a little back and forth to make the holes. Remember that too many holes would not look natural.

Step 3: Making a Hole to Insert the String

Make sure that this hole is near one of the corners otherwise it would be difficult in making it. In this hole just press the pen all the way through and make sure to do the same on both sides so that you are sure the hole is fully open.

Step 4: Painting It Yellow

I just painted the whole thing with one shade of yellow but if you want you can use this other shade of yellow I found which would be great for highlights. Let it dry and then you have got yourself a cheddar cheese charm!
