Introduction: Cheese, Garlic and Herb Bread
Who doesn't like garlic bread! At a proper BBQ it has to be served!!!
Or take it along to a friends house as potluck!
This time I just didn't want to serve the "normal" one, just garlic butter on bread, so I gave it a twist!
It was a try and it worked!
Next time I try this with a wholewheat bread, that will make it much more rustic!
Step 1:
1 approx 500 g Bread loaf
some slices of Cheese to taste
120 g Butter
1 bunch Parsley, chopped
8 cloves of Garlic, chopped
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
Melt the butter and mix with all ingredients, except the cheese.
Step 2:
Cut the bread like a chessboard, but not all the way through.
Step 3:
Cut the cheese slices into squares and push them into the cuts of the bread.
Pour the butter mixture over the cuts.
Step 4:
Wrap the bread into aluminium foil and bake in the oven at 200 C for 15 minutes, then open the foil and bake in the oven, or on the BBQ for another 5-10 minutes until crisp. Serve hot!
Quick and easy and it looks nice!

Yup! In Scotland, if you couldn't brave a BBQ in the rain, there would be no BBQ's ;-)

Hi there, just a wee note to say, your cheesy garlic was amazing. We had a typical Scottish BBQ, yesterday. The rain was coming in side ways ;-). I made your bread, which was nice, simple and a huge hit with all that were there. Great job. Thanks :-)

I don't know about the 120 g butter but the way you prepared it was totally too cool!

You need the infused butter to soak the bread otherwise only the top of the bread will taste of garlic and herbs.
Thank you!

Wow, that is the most amazing bread dish I have ever seen. I think I would add bacon bits though.

Yes bacon bits would fit very well. It is easy to change some of the ingredients, just be creative!
