Introduction: Chia Seed Mask

Ch..Ch....Chia. I know you remember the cheesy commercials and I know I am not the only one that secretly wanted a chia pet sheep. But little did I know that the commercial that I saw only during Christmas time when I was kid is now very popular as an adult to use in skin care and to ingest. Ch.. Ch...Chia!

Chia seeds have around since 3500 BC, Aztecs were the first to be known to eat them.Chia seeds are found inside of the flower of Salvia hispanic, a member of the mint family that grows in desert areas.

Chia seeds are high in alpha-lipoic acids. Alpha-lipoic acid is known to help minimize fine lines, wrinkles and enlarged pores, while encouraging healthy cellular function and increasing radiance in the skin. Chia seeds are considered the richest botanical source of omega-3 fatty acids found in nature. The fatty acids encourages the formation of collagen and elastin, which support skin structure and helps maintain moisture levels.

The coolest thing about chia seeds is that when you add liquid they expand, it's like a magic show!!!
