Introduction: Chicken Shwarma

Here's a recipe of Chicken Shwarma that I have tried and tweaked to fit my taste inclinations. I think you will like it too!

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients and Bowls

Get together the following ingredients:

2 lemons, juiced

½ cup olive oil

6 cloves garlic,grated

2 teaspoon salt

1 and half teaspoons freshly ground black pepper

2 teaspoons ground cumin

2 teaspoons paprika

½ teaspoon turmeric

A pinch ground cinnamon,

2 pounds boneless, skinlessc hicken thighs

1 large red onion, peeled and quartered

quarter cup yoghurt

Grate or mince the 6 cloves of garlic into a small bowl.

Get all the spices out

Get a big bowl to mix

Step 2: Prepare the Chicken

Get the chicken thighs out, clean them and score them on the smooth side

Step 3: Chop the Onions Lengthwise

Step 4: Add Ingredients Into the Mixing Bowl to Make Marinade

Add all the ingredients from the list in Step one into the big bowl along with the chicken and onions

Then mix it well with your hands (really get in there!)

Step 5: Now We Wait

Wrap the marinade with clean film and let it rest for 6 to 12 hours in the refrigerator

Step 6: Grill Them on a Pan

After the marination is complete. Heat up a pan on high heat with just a drop of olive oil in the pan till the oil begins to smoke.

After which, grill the chicken thighs (two or three at a time, no more) for four minutes on either side.

Step 7: Cut Up the Chicken

After the chicken is cooked cut it into thin slices while continuing the former step till all the chicken is cooked.

Step 8: Enjoy!

Yay, now your Shwarma is ready. Enjoy it over rice and yoghurt or with pita and mayonnaise or just on its own.

It takes so good, it goes with everything; including itself.
