Introduction: Chick's Dig It Sign

This instructable was made by my crafty 10 year old Ella!

Materials:
old piece of wood and post
paint (yellow, green, blue and black)
paint brushes
water
letter stencils

My Dad had a piece of wood left over from a project . I decided to make a sign for my chicks.

Step one-
Decide how you want your sign to look.We went with a sunny day!

Paint the background whatever color you would like.

We used blue for the sky.

Step 1: Painting the Sun

Step Two-

Paint the design you have choosen to create. We used yellow paint to paint a large sun in the left corner.

Step 2: Painting the Grass

Step Three-Using green paint, we finished the sign by painting the grass.

*Let sit until dry.

Step 3: Painting the Words

Step Four- Using a stencil and black paint, trace the letters/words to create "Chick's Dig it" or whatever cute saying you want to use.

A friend of my mom's, a few years ago, had made her a sign for her compost which read "worm garden." (see 3rd pic) minus the o!

Step 4: Clear Coat and Adding a Pole

My Dad cut the bottom of the wood to be square. Then he clear coated the sign and attached an old tomato stake to it.

We set the sign out in the chicken pen with the chicks ;)
