Child Size Adirondack Rocking Chairs

Introduction: Child Size Adirondack Rocking Chairs

These three chairs are reduced from the original Adult Adirondack Rocking Chair, but constructed from 5/8" (1.5cm) cedar fence boards with brass screws and bolts. The proportionately curved seat and back allows your children the same comfort you get in the adult chair, and gives them an opportunity to grow into the three available sizes. These chairs are wider than the regular children's chairs.

The smallest CHILD plan measures 17"W x 18 1/2"D x 23"H (43cmW x 47cmD x 58.4cmH) with 9 1/2" (24cm) between the arms. The JUNIOR size measures 22"W x 24"D x 29 1/2"H (55.8cmW x 61cmD x 75cmH) with 12 1/2" (32cm) between the arms. The YOUTH sized plan measures 25 1/2"W x 27 1/2"D x 33 3/4"H (64.8W x 69.9cmD x 85.7cmH) with 14 1/2" (36.8cm) between the arms. The PDF step by step plans also include expandable pictures to assist in construction, and dimensions of the taper sled I use on my table saw, to cut the back slats and back support pieces.
