The Chinese staircase friendship bracelet is in my opinion one of the easiest friendship bracelets to make and you can use as many colors as you like. Step 1: Pick Your Colors

Pick at least three colors of embroidery floss for the bracelet. I used these colors for Valentines Day which is February 14th.

Step 2: Measure and Tie

Measure your embroidery floss by either using a measuring tape or use two arm-lengths (that's what I do). Then fold it all in half and tie into a loop or cut the fold and tie, like I did.

Step 3: Tape

Tape just above the knot to a table or something else. I usually use a My Friendship Bracelet Maker but for the purpose of this tutorial, I am using tape.

Step 4: Tie

Grab your first strand and separate it from the rest. Make a '4' over the other strands. Loop the end under the bundle of floss and over the 4. Sorry if that didn't make sense!

Step 5: Almost Done...

Repeat those steps until you reach your desired length for that color segment. Put that strand back in the pile and grab your next color. Repeat with that color and all the other colors you added until the bracelet is the desired length.

Step 6: Voilà!

Tie off the end and cut the extra string to the right length (enough to be able to tie it with the other end)
