Intro: Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is a recipe for making homemade chocolate chip cookies. It is a simple, and you should have most of the needed ingredients in your cupboards. This recipe yields about 36 cookies.

Utensils:
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Cookie sheets
- Cooling rack

Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 ½  cups flour
- 1 bag of chocolate chips

STEP 1: Soften Butter

In a microwave safe bowl, soften 1 cup of butter in the microwave for about 45 seconds.

NOTE: Depending on how soft the butter is before placing it in the microwave will effect the length of time needed to soften it.

STEP 2: Mix 1st Seven Ingredients

Add softened butter, 2 eggs, 2 tsp. vanilla, ½ cup heaping brown sugar, ½ cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking soda, and 1 tsp. salt to mixing bowl. Beat all the ingredients together with a spoon until the mixture is well mixed.

NOTE:  You can use a beater, kitchen aid, or a whisk instead to mix the ingredients together, but I have found that a spoon works just fine.

STEP 3: Add Flour

Add 2 ½ cups of flour to the mixture and combine until all the flour is mixed in.

STEP 4:

Add bag of chocolate chips to the mixture and mix until the chocolate chips are spread throughout.

STEP 5: Place Onto Cookie Sheet

Preheat oven to 375. Drop cookie dough onto cookie sheet using a normal sized spoon. There will be 12 cookies to a pan - 3 rows with 4 cookies in each row.

STEP 6: Bake Cookies

Place cookie sheet in the oven and bake for 9 to 11 minutes, cookies should look slightly golden on the tops when done.

STEP 7: Eat and Enjoy

Take cookies off the pan and place on cooling rack. Once they are cooled, eat and enjoy.

Hello!!! Thank you for this step by step recipe! Though I think I'm doing something wrong.. mine came out very fluffy. What am I doing wrong ??
Not a problem, I'm glad that you tried it. That sometimes happens to me too. What I would suggest is try adding a little less flour (possibly a 1/4 cup less). Also, maybe when you put the dough on the sheet, don't have it piled up to high. Possibly try flattening it out a little bit. Let me know if this helps. :)
