Introduction: Christmas Tree Stand Floor Protector
Here in Ohio these types of Christmas tree stands are popular. They consist of three (3) steel rebar legs with a center steel spike through a water reservoir. When you purchase the tree, the tree seller will drill a deep hole into the middle of the tree. The spike in the stand fits neatly into the hole in the tree for a secure fit.
How to keep the rebar legs from scratchingour newly refinished floors?
I found the answer in the plumbing section of my local hardware store: 1/2 inch water pipe insulation and zip ties.
Step 1: Pipe Insulation
Step 2: Secure With Zip Ties
Step 3: Add Your Tree

Nice, easy fix! This past Christmas was the first time I'd seen these type of stands and we bought one. Will definitely be adding this for next year!

Good idea! Thanks for sharing, some people probably wouldn't think about this ahead of time and then they would have to deal with scratched up floors :P
