Introduction: Christmas Village Tree
if you have something that you want to put on your Christmas tree or are allergic to a tree this is perfect for you.
the make a Christmas village tree you will need the following:
-sanding tool (optional)
-sanding block
-plywood
-jigsaw
-paint and paintbrushes
-nails (for holding up the wood)
-circle maker/compass
-pencil
-tri square
-2 by 4 board
-drill and driver
-box cutter or as my grandfather uses it a pencil sharpener (optional)
-garland
-some kind of feet for the tree.
Step 1: Step 1
sorry that I don't have pics of this first step but I do have pics for the results.
so for my house, the floor to ceiling is 8 foot so you need to measure how tall your ceiling is. if your ceiling is 8 foot you can follow along exactly but if it is not then you may need to make adjustments to your tree. Do NOT try and change your ceiling without professional help. once you have the measurements move on to stop 2.
Step 2: Step 2
okay so now you have the measurements for your house.
get a piece of plywood or you can use a special kind of wood that is for making house items but plywood is the cheapest and it will come out the same way if not better. Next, get your measurements paper and compass and make the circle. the way you will know the radius is by diving the diameter by 2 so if your diameter is 26 then the radius is 13. once you have drawn the circles by that I mean you will need 6 to 7 circles each smaller than the one before. once they are drawn then you can cut them out for mine you can ignore the smallest circle because we decided not to use it. once this is done then move on the step 3.
Step 3: Step 3
so you must like this project to be this far into it if you are making it right. So for this step, you will need your jigsaw and the circles and drill. take the biggest or smallest circle and draw a box right in the middle of the circle and drill a hole in each corner of the box. Next, cut out the box and repeat this step until every circle has the box cut out of it then move on to step 2.
Step 4: Step 4
For this step, you will see some mistakes, this is just rough assembly. so todo this you will need a box of screws and 1 post of an 8 foot 2 by 4 for the wood to sit on then you just need to do a rough assembly of your tree. then put screws where you want your boards.
Step 5: Step 5
for this step, you are going to be assembling your tree. To do this you will take the biggest circle and putting it about 1 foot from the circle below and putting a piece of wood and bolting it into the post then repeating until you are done.
Step 6: Not a Step But This Has Helpful Info
so what my mother did was we used garland that can have multi-colored lights but my mom didn't want that but it looks good with white and colored lights. then decorate your tree.
