Introduction: Cinnamon Apple Chocolate Bark
I love Apple Pie caramel apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I thought I would make something similar in chocolate bark form. Depending on how much cinnamon you add to your white chocolate, I think it comes pretty close :)
Step 1: Supplies
Ingredients:
- About 12oz Chocolate Chips
- 1 block (or 1/2 cup) White Chocolate - You can actually use much more than this if you'd like
- 1-2 Apple's worth of dehydrated apples or make your own!
- Cinnamon
- Cinnamon/Sugar mixture
Utensils:
- Wax Paper or Non-Stick Mat
- Baking Sheet - I find this nice to make the bark on so it's easy to move it around
- Container you can melt your chocolate in
- Measuring spoon
Step 2: Spread Your Base
To start, you want to melt your chocolate and spread that down as your base.
[Next, you could do the white chocolate, as described in the next step, and then the apples. It just depends on your tastes and how you want it to look.]
Lay out your dehydrated apples on the chocolate. Tap them down so they stick well. I did big slices of apple (because it looks nice) and then filled in gaps with smaller pieces.
Step 3: Cinnamon Layers
I wanted to try to be fancy, so after I added the apples, I melted my white chocolate (you probably only need 1 block if you want it to look nice, I tried 2.5 blocks and had too much) and mix in cinnamon once it is melted. I would say to add whatever you want. I used about 1 teaspoon or so per block (1/2 cup) of white chocolate. It is okay if it has a strong cinnamon taste because you are just drizzling it on so it won't be your only taste.
Drizzle that over the apple/chocolate base.
Finish it off by sprinkling the cinnamon sugar on top.
Step 4: Let It Harden and Serve
Now you need to let it harden so you can break it up. I usually stick it in the fridge, but that is going to make the chocolate have a matte finish. So, if that matters to you, keep it in mind.
Break it up or cut it apart to serve.

Yum, that looks good! Now if only I can work out the dehydrating apples bit, I'm there. :)

It's actually not too bad! I link to my Instructable above where I use a dehydrator, but if you don't have one, you can also bake them. Jessyratfink has a good Instructable on that :)
