Introduction: Clock

For this project, you will make a digital clock using an Arduino chip to program the time.

Supplies

  1. Paint
  2. Arduino chip
  3. Wires
  4. Soldering iron
  5. Solder
  6. Electrical tape
  7. Paintbrush
  8. 3D Printer

Step 1: 3D Design/ Printing

In this step, you will be printing the parts for your clock. I have provided the STL files for both the box and the cap of your clock.

(Note: You will have to sand the cap down a little bit because it will be a little bit)

Step 2: Wiring

  1. Look at the wiring diagram
  2. Using a breadboard to connect your wires make sure that your wiring is correct
  3. Once all of your wirings is correct proceed to use the soldering iron and solder to connect your wires(this may take some time but be patient)
  4. Place electric tape around the wire connection
  5. Connect Arduino to the computer through a wire on the side of the chip
  6. Use the code in the next step to help

Step 3: Coding

The following PDF includes the code for the actual clock to work.

Step 4: Assembly

  1. Take your wiring and your clock
  2. Place the wiring carefully inside the cock
  3. Align the clock screen with the hole made for it inside the clock

Make sure that you are gentle with the wiring since roughness may cause the code to mess up if a wire disconnects.

Step 5: Decoration

  1. For the decoration part, you will print a donut that will go on top of your box
  2. While the donut is printing paint your box pink
  3. After the donut is printed paint it a tan color
  4. Add details to the donut such as frosting and sprinkles
