Introduction: Coca-Cola Folding Container

About: I like to make stuff a play French horn.

Hi, I'm Thomas

This is a simple craft I like to make out of Coca-Cola bottles to help organize things like paperclips, change, and even snacks. It isn't really hard to make and becomes way easier after the first couple of tries. Please know that this can only be made with Coca-Cola bottles with the ridges on the side. Happy Recycling!

Step 1: Step 1:

First, a small slit must be cut into the label part of the bottle to fit one blade of the scissors in. After inserting the scissors, you must proceed to cutting the bottle in half.

Step 2: Step 2:

Next, after setting the top half aside for later use, the rest of the label is cut off leaving the bottom grip. (Only cut off the red label).

Step 3: Step 3:

This next part is a bit tricky. On the side of the bottle there are striped ridges that should be cut to create flaps. To give the flaps more support you must cut down to the red line on each ridge stripe as shown in the picture leaving one ridge stripe in between (Ex: cut a stripe, leave a stripe, cut a stripe, leave a stripe, etc.). When cutting remember that it is better to cut too short than too long.

Step 4: Finished!

If your creation can fold down and stay, then congratulations! You did it!

If you are having any trouble with it working then try making this again. With practice you will learn what cut length works best. If only a couple of flaps are not sticking then you can try cutting farther or bounding it in a rubber band and running water over it. I would recommend is rounding the corners of the flaps so they do not poke you while they are being used.
