Coffee Bean Bark

Introduction: Coffee Bean Bark

If you love coffee, you're going to absolutely love this delectable bark. Two layers of chocolate--a Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate layer with real coffee beans, topped with a lighter, creamy white chocolate layer, and more coffee beans! This bark is rich and amazing. It makes a great gift.

  • parchment paper
  • baking sheet
  • 6 ounces of Ghirardelli dark chocolate
  • 6 ounces of white chocolate
  • 1/2 c. coffee beans
  • cutting board
  • large kitchen knife
  • spatula
  • microwave-safe bowl
  • instant coffee
  • freezer

Step 1: Dark Chocolate Layer

Place a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet. Microwave 6 ounces of dark chocolate with 1 teaspoon of instant coffee, stirring every 15 seconds, until smooth. Coarsely chop 1/3 cup of coffee beans with a large kitchen knife, on a cutting board. Stir one-half of the beans into the melted chocolate, and then pour it onto the parchment paper. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.

Step 2: White Chocolate Layer

Place 6 ounces of white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the chocolate, until smooth, stirring every 15 seconds. Add the remaining chopped coffee beans to the white chocolate. Remove the dark chocolate from the freezer, and pour the white chocolate on top. Crush the remaining coffee beans, and sprinkle on top, as a garnish. Return pan to freezer until completely set, about 3 hours.

Step 3: Cut and Serve

Place bark on a cutting board, and carefully cut into small pieces. Serve on a platter.

Can also be packaged in a glass jar to give as a gift.

Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator, or other cool storage.

Looks beautiful! Well done. Good luck in the contest :) I love the nod to "coffee" in the dictionary under the pictures. Nice!
