Introduction: Coffee Table

Here's a coffee table that might look a bit different than most. Just an idea.

Step 1: Cutting and Fitting

Cut all the aluminum square tube pieces with a chop saw and seeing how the oak pieces will fit

Step 2: Wood Stain

Tig welded all the aluminum joints and cut the oak pieces. Added tabs to support the wood. Stained and cleared the wood with polyurethane. Used the same clear finish on the aluminum.

Step 3: Standing the Test of Time

Table has been in my living room for almost a year and still looks new even with 3 kids testing it's limits every day

    I am not sure of the metal sides complemeting the entire wooden outlook of the table. However, it does look like a futuristic design which would easily complement couches and stools.

    Wow. That looks nice. I am going to make one of these for my brother. He is trying to put together furniture for his basement/man cave.
