Introduction: Coin Pusher

Hi, I´ve been searching how to built this machines that called my atention, but i´ve found nothing, so I decided to built one myself.
They´re called: Coin pushers.
Maybe somebody had seen it in those places that have lots of this kind of machines that give prices.
So, as there is nothing of this tipe in instructables, I´ve decided to make one.

Step 1: Materials


Materials you will need:
-Balsa wood (Is very easy to manipulate, they sell it in hobby stores, is used to make RC planes and all that...)
-Screws
-Thin plastic
-One servo (you´ll have to modificate it so it will continue arround and arround.)
-5 volt adapter
-Interruptor
-Double face tape
-All kind of tools such as a saw, screwdrivers, etc.
I used a dremmel too, but is optional.
-And of course, coins.

Step 2: How to Build It

 Ok so now is where the balsa wood thakes a place.
I don´t know the messure the balsa wood you´ll buy will be, so you have to see and make calculations to complete this step. I´ve worked with strips of balsa wood.
Ok, so the first thing you need to do is the base, it has to be long, I used 2 strips of balsa wood.
Then the sides, I cut one strip in half for this, but I cut from the top right to the bottom left, so now you have triangles, attach them to the base.
Now you have to make the part that will move and will push the coins, I did it with less than a half strip of wood.
Ok so now you´re almost done,take another piece of wood and put some screws in it, this will be the part where you´ll drop the coins.
Now it comes the difficult part, you have to attch this part to the sides, but carefuly, becouse this part will push the coins of the top, so you have to make some adjustements sonone of the coins pass for below, but also it doesn,t block the motor.
And now you have to completre the structure screwing more balsa wood till you have the form you want.
I put two socket-pans so I can open the mechanic part when the machine has a problem.
and youre done.

Step 3: Mechanism and Electronics

Now you are going to make the heart of the coin pusher.
Get the servo, the 5 volt adapter, and more balsa wood.
In the back part you have to mount the servo, as you can see in the image, I put a swich in it and I pass the cble trough the back part.
Remember that you have to modificate the servo so it goes round and round and doesn´t block.
ok so now you have the servo working.
Now put a screw in the "moving" part and a little piece of wood in the servo with double faced tape.
Then with metal or more wood make the "transmision", put a socket-pan in eachside of the metal or piece of wood.
Attach one side to the screw in the "moving part" and the other to another screw in the piece of the servo, by adjusting the distance from the center of the servo to the sides of the piece of wood (metal) the "moving part" will coss more or less distance.

Step 4: Plastics/ Win or Loose

Now you need to put a piece of flat plastic in the part where you drop the coins and anoder (this one is optional) on the part where the coins are, so nobody steal your coins.
Ok in this game depend on wich part the coins fall, you win or you loose, as you can see in the image, I put two little "boxes", if the coins fall there, you lose, and the owner of the machine will keep them, but if the coin drops in the middle you´ve won.

Step 5: Have Fun!

Now you have finished your coin pusher, have fun with it and make your frinds play it,
mabye you can win some money!!
