Introduction: Color-Changing LED Skateboard Lights
Color Changing LED Lights allowed our own Dan Kidd to vamp his own skateboard for the December Employee DIY project. Kidd installed 3 feet of battery-powered, waterproof, color changing LED lights on his skateboard in just a couple of hours. A compact, lightweight battery powers these high-density RGB LED strip lights to achieve ultimate versatility. That is so rad! I love seeing this stuff! Check out thirdkindbeyond.com They are skater's in Florida that started with a garage project like this and turned it into an awesome skateboard light kit that fits any skateboard, changes colors and is rechargeable with the included micro USB cable. Look for them on kickstarter in a couple of weeks.

Very, very cool...but a quick look at the parts list makes this a project costing over $200! Is there a cheaper solution? Any of the included items optional?

At first, I was just like, dude, you suck at skateboarding. Then I was like, yeah, you still sort of suck at skateboarding, but less so.
