Introduction: Connect As Many Batteries As You Need Without a Battery Box
I am always trying to test something that requires more than one battery and was never able to hold two or three batteries the wires and whatever I was testing at once and still have it work - so never able to test. No More!
Now i just stick a neodymium magnet in between batteries and one at either end. The magnets hold the batteries and my alligator clips in place and now I can test what ever I need.
Standard disclaimers apply - this is just something I did. If you do it and break stuff, hurt yourself or injure others - I am sorry to hear it but that is about it. These magnets are strong and have a tendancy to snap back together faster than you can stop them. There is a very good chance that if you are using these with a live circuit that they can very quickly snap into a configuration that can immediatly short circuit and self destruct.
Materials needed:
Batteries
Magnets - 1 more than you have of batteries
Test leads with at least one end that is magnetic - just like the ones you find with alligator clips on each end.

This is three years late but I just found your suggestion. I had the magnets on hand so I put it together for some temporary Christmas LED projects. It works great and is faster and more reliable than clamps, rubber bands, or tape.

great idea,
if need more magnets, you may salvage strong neodymium magnets from defective pc hard drives..
