Introduction: Control Your Computer With Your Ipod Touch or Iphone

This is my first instructable so i'm sorry if its not the best. Have you ever wan't to sit on your sofa or bed and control your Mac or Windows devices the easy way. This instructable will teach you how to completly control your coputer with your Ipod touch or Iphone.

AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTO YOU CAN EASILY SEE THE COMPUTER MONITOR IS WELL SHOWN ON THE IPOD.

IF YOU DECIDE TO SET IT UP ON PAGE 4 HAS SOME HANDY TIPS TO GET THE BEST OUT OF THIS PROGRAM

Step 1: Instructions

the first thing you will need is a iphone or ipod touch with the new iphone software installed on it and from the applications store download VNC lite on to it. (don't worry the download of the VNC software is free) you will get the update on the Itunes website (iphone software 2.0 or higher)

second make sure you have a wirelss router conecting all your devices up

third install VNC Lite on your Mac or Windows based computers

Step 2: Setting It All Up Part 1

Now this should be the easy step.

go to your computer and find UltraVNC Server on your desktop and open it up

you should see all highlighted box saying password, you will need to set it and uncheck the two boxes shown on the picture below. (this will allow you to see what you have moved on the screen and see all that is happening on both screens.)


Press apply when you have finished this section.

Step 3: Setting It All Up Part 2

Now go back to your Iphone/ Ipod touch and open VNC on it.

Go to MENU, then Edit Connection and that should lead you to the Host List

Click on the first Not Used row

Now its the connecting part now.
Where it says VNC Server Ip address type in your IP address which should start as 192.168.... then finish it off.

Leave it the VNC Server Port empty ( I didn't have to change it so you shouldn't )

Then type in the password from your computer from eariler

Step 4: Connect

NOW connect HAVE FUN

HANDY TIP: IF YOU DON'T MIND WASTING ELECTRICITY IF YOU LEAVE YOUR COMPUTER ON YOU WILL ABLE TO CONNECT TO IF FOR LARGE DISTANCES (INTERNET CAFE).

ALSO YOU CAN MOVE THE SCREEN LANDSCAPE AND PORTRAIT AND ZOOM IN BY USING TWO FINGURES
