Introduction: Couture Military Jacket DIY

About: Hi everyone! I'm a hardcore DIY'er, I've published 11 DIY books, just produced my own TV show called Make Your Mark for PBS/APT, I make YouTube videos every week and I'm buried under a mountain of craft suppl…

Upstyle a basic blazer into a beautiful couture military style jacket with very little sewing.

Step 1: Watch the Short Video Tutorial Here!

Step 2: You'll Need

Black blazer

Heavy black fabric (cotton twill)

E-6000 Fabri-fuse

Allure Metallic Gold Dimensional Design Adhesive Paint (or gold puff paint)

Scissors

Gold buttons

Gold Ribbon

Needle and thread

Step 3: Make the Gold "embroidered" Feathers

Trace the pattern on the black fabric and draw a line down the center

Fill in the feather with the Allure Metallic Gold and let dry

*You'll need approximately 14 feathers

Step 4: Apply the Feathers and Buttons

Remove the buttons from the blazer (the cuff, too)

Press the lapel flat with an iron

Cut out the feathers and figure out the placement on the jacket

Glue on the feathers with E-6000 Fabri-fuse and let dry

Using needle and thread, stitch on the buttons at the base of each feather

Apply gold ribbon to the cuff with more Fabri-fuse

Step 5: Feather Template to Print
