Introduction: Cranberry Apple Salad Dressing
I recently discovered just how simple it is to make your own salad dressing. It basically comes down to flavor: balancing out sweet, sour, salty, and peppery. If these four things are well-balanced, a dressing has been made! Yes, it's THAT easy. For this dressing, I basically just threw together some ingredients that I had in my pantry, and it was delicious!
Step 1: Ingredients
- 2 tbs. Apple Cider
- 1/2 tbs. Lime or Lemon Juice
- 2 tbs. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tbs. Honey
- 2 tbs. Fresh Cranberries
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Pepper
Note:
All of these ingredients are "to taste" meaning that it isn't necessary to follow the recipe exactly. I recommend starting with the amounts I have listed, then dipping in a piece of lettuce to see if it's to your liking. From there, you can add whatever more of the flavors you want to get the dressing to your liking.
Step 2: Blend
Add all of the ingredients, except the oil, into the blender/food processor. Blend until the cranberries have been pulverized into juice.
Step 3: Add the Oil
With the blender/food processor on a medium-low setting, slowly add in the oil. Continue to blend until the oil has emulsified with the other ingredients.
