Introduction: Crayon-Inspired Magnet
This is an amazingly cute little magnet. It is super easy to make, and it looks great in the home, classroom, office, or anywhere else!
Supplies
- A large, medium, and ultra-fine paintbrush (a toothpick is also a good ultra-fine option)
- A glass vase filler bead
- A round magnet
- Black paint
- paint of another color (in thiscase, it was blue)
- Super glue
- Craft finisher
Step 1: Base Coat
Squirt a bit of blue paint (or whatever color) on a paper plate or other paint-safe surface. Paint all sides of your vase filler bead and let it dry.
Step 2: Write
With a toothpick or ultra-fine brush, dip it in black paint and write the word "crayon" in the middle, leaving plenty of room on the sides.
Step 3: Paint the Black Strips
Paint black strips on either side of your word, just like a real crayon would have. Let it dry.
Step 4: Add Crayon Flair
Dip a toothpick or ultra-fine brush in the same shade of blue you used for your base coat. Draw teeny squiggles down the back strips to make it look more like a crayon. Let it dry.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
With super glue, add a magnet to the bottom and let it dry.
